- Apollo launches Asia’s first women only cancer care centre in New Delhi.
- Athenaa offers advanced treatment, home care, and holistic wellness.
- Focus on breast, cervical, ovarian, and uterine cancers to boost survival rates.
Apollo Hospitals has launched Apollo Athenaa, a first-of-its-kind cancer care centre in Asia dedicated solely to women’s oncology. Located in New Delhi, this centre marks a significant step forward in personalised and comprehensive cancer treatment for women in India.
A collaboration between Apollo Indraprastha Hospital and Apollo Home Healthcare, the centre was inaugurated by Smt. Rekha Gupta as the Guest of Honour. The initiative aims to provide women with access to world class cancer care, combining hospital based treatments with support at home.
India faces a growing cancer burden, with over 1.4 million new cases each year, and breast cancer alone accounts for nearly 2 lakh cases among women. However, survival rates remain low, with nearly 60% of patients not surviving post-diagnosis. Apollo Athenaa has been launched to change this narrative.
The centre offers a comprehensive care model from early screening and diagnosis to rehabilitation and palliative care. It is equipped with advanced technologies, including genomic testing, molecular diagnostics, robotic assisted surgeries, and a multidisciplinary tumour board to ensure personalised treatment plans.
What makes Apollo Athenaa stand out is its integration with Apollo Home Healthcare’s Palliative Care at Home programme. This allows patients to receive dietary advice, psychological support, pain management, and remote monitoring within the comfort of their homes, enhancing quality of life during treatment.

“Athenaa is more than just a medical facility. It is a shift in how we approach cancer care for women covering prevention, precision treatment, and emotional support”, said Vishal Lathwal, CEO of Apollo Home Healthcare.
Apollo also plans to expand this care model to other major cities, introduce clinical research partnerships, and enhance reach through digital healthcare tools, such as tele-consultations and remote care.
