The Indian radiology market anticipates remarkable growth, projecting a CAGR of 14.7 percent till 2030, culminating in a substantial $129 million by 2030. Indian radiologists, adept at diagnostic precision, are crucial in this landscape. Technological advancements, including AI and machine learning, enhance diagnostic efficiency and accuracy, exemplifying the era of digital transformation. Teleradiology facilitates cross border collaborations and timely consultations. However, challenges loom, notably the demand-supply gap for qualified radiologists, intensifying workloads and optimal integration of imaging findings with available clinical dataset, potentially compromising accuracy. Journey & Vision
Dr. Shivram G. Iyer embarked on his academic journey, graduating (MBBS) from V.S.S Medical College, Burla, Orissa, in 1991, followed by post-graduation (MD) from G.R Medical College in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, in in 2003. He subsequently did his senior residency, working at G.B Pant Hospital in New Delhi, where he gained crucial experience. This was furthered by enriching stints at renowned hospitals like Kailash Hospital, Noida and Fortis Escort Heart Institute along with a 12 year long stint of musculoskeletal Teleradiology for a US based firm from 2008-2020. Currently, he leads a team of Radiologists with varying spectra of experience, who interpret medical images to make sure they give the right answers to all the questions posed.

Dr. Shivram G. Iyer envisions a proactive healthcare approach, emphasizing both on the need for high quality interpretation, and integration of teaching and learning programs to ensure both vertical and horizontal increments. This ensures that the lesser experienced Radiologists also get adequate opportunity to learn to deal with complex studies without compromising on the accuracy of reads.

His vision includes imparting his experience and sharing his work ethos with as many other Radiologists as feasible and overall building a robust and comprehensive teaching and training mechanism. Ultimately, he seeks a healthcare landscape prioritizing early detection of disease with improved health outcomes and a healthier society.
