  • Telecom Egypt and Reliance Jio-backed KareXpert have partnered to launch a cloud-based digital healthcare platform in Egypt, integrating HIMS, electronic medical records, and billing systems.
  • The platform is hosted on a secure national cloud, ensuring data privacy, regulatory compliance, and scalability for AI and IoT integration.
  • The initiative supports Egypt’s 2030 digital transformation vision, aiming to improve hospital efficiency and make healthcare more accessible for citizens.

In a significant step towards digitizing healthcare services in Egypt, Telecom Egypt has partnered with KareXpert, a Reliance Jio-backed healthtech firm, to roll out a secure, cloud-based digital healthcare platform. The initiative, announced during the ‘Africa Health ExCon 2025’ in Cairo, is designed to modernize hospital operations, streamline billing, and safeguard patient data while supporting Egypt’s broader 2030 digital transformation vision.

The newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two companies outlines the deployment of a comprehensive digital platform that integrates Hospital Information Management Systems (HIMS), unified electronic medical records, and revenue cycle management solutions. Hosted on Egypt’s national cloud, the platform ensures data sovereignty and compliance with local regulations.

According to the official statement, the platform offers a unified view of clinical and administrative data, enabling hospitals to enhance operational efficiency. It also simplifies billing processes through integrated digital payment pathways, facilitating faster revenue cycles and greater financial transparency for healthcare providers.

Nidhi Jain, Founder and CEO of KareXpert, expressed optimism about the partnership. “Telecom Egypt will give us faster market access and quicker rollout. The platform will enable easy access to healthcare services to the citizens of Egypt with exceptional reliability”, she said.

The digital solution is scalable and future-ready, allowing integration of advanced technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT). These capabilities are expected to significantly improve diagnostic accuracy, patient care, and hospital management in both public and private healthcare institutions.

Mohamed Nasr, Managing Director and CEO of Telecom Egypt, highlighted the strategic importance of this collaboration. “We are transferring our technical expertise to the healthcare sector by offering hospitals a reliable, easy-to-deploy platform that protects patient data privacy and doubles operational efficiency. This supports Egypt’s 2030 vision for sustainable digital transformation”, he said.

Telecom Egypt’s move into digital healthcare complements its broader strategy to expand beyond traditional telecom services into high-value domains such as secure cloud computing, AI, and IoT. KareXpert, which already serves renowned institutions like Apollo, Reliance, Artemis, and the Indian Ministry of Defence, brings its proven expertise to Egypt’s evolving healthcare ecosystem.

This collaboration marks a major milestone in making healthcare more accessible, efficient, and future-ready for millions of Egyptians.
