Blod.in has been able to bring down the average time spent on blood procurement from a few hours to a mere 90-120 minutes in its trial phase. Lytus Technologies, a 4 million-strong global platform services company, has announced that it has acquired Blod.in, India's first AI-driven, on-demand blood logistics platform for hospitals and blood banks.
Based in Chennai currently, Blod.in has grown its customer base from working with 30 to 140 hospitals in the last year alone, recording a month-on-month growth rate of 20%. In its pilot phase, the platform asserts to have reduced the average time to procure blood considerably, solving a key problem in a nation that suffers from a yearly blood deficit of 650,000 units.
The purchase will expand AI and machine learning offerings throughout Lytus HealthTech, including Blod.in's AI engine, which maximizes blood inventory forecasting, real-time supply-demand mapping, and last-mile routing intelligence for temperature-sensitive shipments.
Lytus has committed Rs 1,000 crore in the next three years to expand its operations organically and through acquisitions. The investment will strengthen AI and machine learning integrations within its HealthTech portfolio, with a specific focus on Agentic AI.
"Healthcare is a major point of intersection of business expansion and social contribution," said Dharmesh Pandya, CEO at Lytus Technologies. "We are building scalable solutions that harness next-generation AI and Agentic AI to improve blood and medical logistics, automate workflows, and enhance patient outcomes in India and worldwide."
With co-developed protocols, live data integrations, and collaborative dashboards, the company is striving to build a real-time AI-powered healthcare ecosystem. "Our AI model enables proactive collaboration, making sure that each unit of blood and each patient is accounted for with accuracy," said Sai Guna Ranjan Puranam, COO of Lytus HealthTech.
