Separator
Dr. Balaji Utla, CEOHaving pledged Rs.48,853 crore for the health sector, this year’s union budget emphasizing on public private partnerships in the realm has been a promising one, and it could host the most anticipated paradigm shift in terms of healthcare accessibility & affordability for rural population. A team of veteran doctors, public health experts & senior IT wizards from Satyam Foundation (based out of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh) had foreseen the dire need of public health sector’s development a decade back, and pioneered some of the largest public healthcare programs in the state such as 104 health helpline and 108 emergency ambulance services, which were replicated by other states. These pioneers also developed one of the earliest telemedicine solutions of our country – ‘Dox-in-the-Box’ in 2008.

Through their next futuristic-venture KRIA Healthcare - a technology enabled & research-driven healthcare services company carved out of the buzzwords – Knowledge, Respect, Innovation, and Action (KRIA), the team is set on their next mission to provide world-class medical service to the financially poor and geographically disengaged people of our country who largely depend on public healthcare. KRIA offers a wide horizon of Telemedicine, Emergency Ambulance and
Training services, from basic audio based helpline services (104 health helpline)to running 164 Electronic Urban Primary Health Centers (UPHC)across Andhra Pradesh in PPP mode with the state government.

Being in pursuit of saving lives in accidents, KRIA’s solutions help automate and make emergency & non-emergency ambulance services more efficient and responsive

KRIA’s UPHC management solution that offers UPHC workflow automation along with expert analysis from reputed doctors through remote diagnosis, is highly customizable respective of doctors’ availability in different locations. “A center that contains a doctor entails specialist analysis, but there are centers which are taken care by nurses, and there we provide our full-fledged services,” asserts Dr.Balaji Utla, CEO, KRIA. In other words, KRIA’s UPHC solution goes beyond being a telemedicine platform to act as an integrated healthcare management platform that manages the entire treatment cycle of health centres - from patient registration, EHR, doctor consultation, specialist consultation through telemedicine, and lab assistance to final drug dispensing. KRIA’s telemedicine solution also enables private medical healthcare chains to connect remote doctors with specialists in major centers.

Giving Oxygen to Poor Ambulance Service
The ambulance service in our
country is almost at a paralyzed state due to equipment shortage and poorly trained emergency medical technicians (EMT), resulting in a considerable number of deaths that can be avoided. Being in pursuit of saving lives in accidents, KRIA’s solutions help automate and make emergency & non-emergency ambulance services more efficient and responsive. KRIA also uses telemedicine to guide EMT stop provide the crucial primary treatment by connecting them real-time with the physician sitting in a hospital or a remote centre. “For private doctors, we provide a solution which will automatically capture the vitals of patient when connected with them, and transmit those results to remote locations for specialist analysis,” adjoins Dr. Balaji. Projected towards the total empowerment of healthcare system, the company also provides training services for medical staffs.

The Innovation Hub
While several industries deeply use data analytics to make business decisions and predict the future, healthcare is still taking baby steps towards it. But being home to futuristic innovations, KRIA’s R&D team is working on an analytic tool in partnership with a pharma research company, which will help map, track, and possibly predict the out break of large scale diseases using the data gathered from health helplines, departmental data, public health data and other open data sources.

Having innovation as its DNA, this young company's future road map is largely driven by innovations in the e-Health services and solutions. "Some of our platforms are projected towards integrating and upgrading the healthcare technology segment to social media as well,” concludes Dr.Balaji.
