UP Police Families to Get Stronger Healthcare Support Under New MoUs
- Tata 1mg, Apollo Hospital sign MoUs to boost healthcare for police families
- Free homoeopathy wellness camps to be held across all districts
- 5,000 health cards issued to support key screenings for women
The UP Police Family Welfare Association, WAMA Saarthi, has launched a major healthcare initiative to improve medical access for police families across the state. The announcement was made at the UP Police Headquarters in Lucknow, where WAMA Saarthi president Meenakshi Singh (IRS) and DGP Rajeev Krishna oversaw the signing of two important MoUs with Tata 1mg and Apollo Hospital. A coordinated program with the AYUSH department was also rolled out to expand homoeopathy wellness services.
Under the partnership with Tata 1mg, diagnostic camps will start from December 7 in nine district police lines. These camps will offer reliable tests at subsidized and CGHS-compliant rates, making healthcare more affordable for families of police personnel.
Apollo Hospital has issued 5,000 health cards for women aged 40 and above. These cards will allow beneficiaries to access Pap smear tests, mammography, and other essential gynecological screenings at no cost until March 31, 2026.
In addition, monthly homoeopathy wellness camps led by AYUSH will be set up in all districts. These camps will provide free consultations and medicines, ensuring consistent preventive care.

Meenakshi Singh described the initiative as an important step toward 'healthcare security' for police families. She noted that police personnel work under high stress, and supporting their families’ well-being is a shared responsibility. She also highlighted ongoing efforts to establish permanent diagnostic centers and pharmacies inside police lines.
DGP Rajeev Krishna said police welfare remains a top priority and praised WAMA Saarthi’s outreach efforts, which have already benefited around 10,000 police families.
