  • Pro Physio and the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) have introduced India’s first certification in obstetric physical therapy.
  • The program aims to improve maternal health and raise care standards in pelvic and obstetric therapy.
  • This marks the beginning of a series of international healthcare training programs in India.

In a groundbreaking move to advance allied healthcare education in India, Pro Physio has partnered with the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) through its Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy to launch the Certificate of Advanced Practice in Physical Therapy in Obstetric Health. This is the first time such a specialized certification is being offered in India.

The course is designed to equip physiotherapists and allied health professionals with evidence based training in pelvic and obstetric care, an area witnessing rising demand across the country. Developed by global experts, the certification will support India’s efforts to improve maternal health outcomes through better clinical training and access to specialized care.

“Pro Physio has shown deep commitment to improving clinical education in India”, said APTA’s Academy of Pelvic Health. “This partnership will bring internationally benchmarked content to the Indian subcontinent, helping build local expertise and access to pelvic health services”.

With a growing network of over 30 centers and 200,000 lives touched, Pro Physio is positioning itself as a leader in bridging the gap between conventional Indian training and global best practices.
