KIMS Group of Hospitals, a leading multi-specialty hospital chain of South India, has partnered with Medtronic, the world's leading healthcare technology company to train young and emerging surgeons in state-of-the-art surgery procedures. The alliance will train more than 100 surgeons in KIMS hospitals across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Maharashtra, enhancing surgical skills in areas including General Surgery, Oncology, Urology-Gynaecology, and Endoscopy. This facility will also be extended to its future facilities in Thane, Mumbai and Bangalore.
Through this project, doctors will receive access to a specially developed remote technology solution that supports real-time, interactive communication among surgeons, educators, and remote specialists. This innovative solution provides high quality surgical collaboration, which allows for effortless learning and training opportunities despite location.
The organized upskilling courses will consist of a combination of didactic sessions, hands-on training, and observership to provide an all-around learning experience as per the individual requirement of surgeons. Renowned faculties from KIMS Group of Hospitals have been selected to organize specialized educational workshops on different surgical procedures.
Commenting on the collaboration, Mandeep Singh Kumar, Vice President and Managing Director of Medtronic India said, "This partnership represents a move toward meeting pressing healthcare needs in India, where the priority is improving the skills of clinicians. Synthesizing clinical knowledge from KIMS Hospital with innovative training pedagogy from Medtronic, we aim to close surgical proficiency gaps while optimizing patient outcomes through customized programs".
These initiatives are designed not only to refine procedural skills but also to foster a deeper understanding of value-based healthcare principles, ensuring clinicians are equipped to meet the highest standards of care.
Dr. Bhaskar Rao Bollineni, Founder & Chairman, KIMS Group of Hospitals commented, “At KIMS, we are committed to nurturing the next generation of surgical talent by integrating technology-driven learning with clinical excellence. Our partnership with Medtronic is an important milestone in continuing to build a strong ecosystem of surgical education. Through the adoption of remote training solutions and expertise modules, our goal is to equip young surgeons with the requisite skills, confidence, and world-class best practices to provide best-in-class patient care.
