Philips, a global leader in health technology, and Narayana Institute of Cardiac Sciences, one of India's premier cardiac care institutions, marked the first anniversary of the ELiTE program. In these past many years, the ELiTE program has provided 136 hours of training to more than 200 healthcare professionals like cardiologists, physicians, intensivists, and sonographers.

The ELiTE program is an exhaustive offline training experience in echocardiography, developed under the expert guidance of Dr. Satish Govind. Combining exposure to faculty highly qualified in the latest technologies related to echocardiography, hands-on workshops will help clinicians unlock the full potential of their ultrasound systems and improve care for their patients.

The ELiTE program comprises nine modules across key specialties like adult and pediatric echo, critical care point of care ultrasound and fetal echo, to name a few. After each module, at the end, the clinicians are certified and medical council credits are awarded to them by the Karnataka Medical Council. Philips acts as the technology partner for the ELiTE program, offering state-of-the-art ultrasound systems and software for hands-on training by participants.

"We at Philips take immense pride in the results returned by ELiTE within a short time span of one year from its launch as a Center of Excellence for Echocardiography training based out of India", added Sachin Grover, Head of Ultrasound, Philips Indian Subcontinent. "With over 200 clinicians being trained in a short period of one year, ELiTE has contributed convincingly to enhance access to quality healthcare in India. Appended to this, he said, "We are grateful to our partners Narayana Health for living our commitment to patients for better outcomes through innovative education and cutting edge technology".

Dr Satish Govind, Chief of Non-Invasive Cardiology, NICS, NH Healthcity, Bengaluru, reiterated the vision of the ELiTE program, "The ELiTE training program was initiated to achieve excellence in echocardiography among clinicians and set benchmarks so that diagnoses with accuracy are established as standards. Echocardiography and POCUS are more and more often being used by physicians of other specialties in their clinical routine. Therefore, considering India's burden of cardiovascular disease, we believe that courses like ELiTE will considerably improve the upskilling and familiarizing healthcare professionals with the latest technological advances, which at some point in time may benefit patient outcomes in the long run.

It reflects Philips' higher commitment to training Indian healthcare professionalsand improving the standards of healthcare services in general. Through advanced training and exposure to the most cutting-edge technology, Philips, in association with NICS, is working diligently to upgrade the standards of cardiac care and ensure greater numbers of clinicians are empowered with the right skills to deliver high-quality patient care.
