Separator
India is facing a looming diabetes crisis, with a staggering 101 million individuals already living with diabetes and an additional 130 million at a very high risk of developing the condition within the next five years. Despite advancements in healthcare, this poses a serious threat to India's potential demographic dividend. Conventional healthcare approaches have significant gaps, prompting the exploration of digital therapeutic solutions that combine human and technological interventions. However, addressing this pressing issue requires an additional solution that can operate effectively on a large scale, offering hyper-personalized, intelligent, and accessible care to the masses.

Introducing JEDi a state-of-the-art empathetic conversational coaching AI developed by the X-labs Innovation team at Fitterfly. JEDi aims to provide users with reliable and empathetic assistance in managing their nutrition, fitness, and overall well-being in a structured 28-day regimen, built as a game. It analyses user responses, health data, and preferences to offer customized advice and nudges towards healthier habits.

"The JEDi architecture is hybrid with rule-based NLP on an Expert system foundation complemented with large language models (LLMs). It’s connected to the Fitterfly knowledge base which powers our therapies", said Ammar Jagirdar, Head X Labs at Fitterfly, "Inspired by our coaches, I deliberately refer to JEDi as ‘her’ to emphasize the nuanced personality we’ve developed that prioritizes patient care and outcomes above all. This personality ensures that subscribing members engage with her daily for improved health while maintaining an awareness that she is more than just an AI coach or agent — she’s a partner in their wellbeing".

The Fitterfly Metabolic Health app has integrated JEDi, making it accessible to users. Additionally, the modular features of JEDi can be adopted as plug-and-play solutions for corporations seeking to enhance employee well-being. We anticipate JEDi playing a significant role in patient support initiatives and serving as an additional value-based service that insurance companies can offer.

Shailesh Gupta, COO and co-founder of Fitterfly said, “JEDi is the first product from Fitterfly’s Innovation Lab and demonstrates our strong belief in utilizing AI in Digital Therapeutics for better patient outcomes. I strongly believe that by leveraging the power of AI, we will be able to provide solutions that work at scale". JEDi is designed for smooth integration into healthcare systems, delivering data-driven insights for improved outcomes. The goal is to empower patients in self-management and promote cost-efficient healthcare, ultimately contributing to the reduction of the diabetes burden in India.
