  • Over 1,400 health personnel, including 1,388 nursing officers, received appointment letters to fill long-standing vacancies in Delhi’s public health system.
  • The government aims to operationalise 1,100 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs by March 2026 and has flagged off registration vans to enrol citizens under PM-JAY and other schemes.
  • Union Minister JP Nadda inaugurated three BJP district offices in Delhi, with the party’s state office also nearing completion.

In a significant boost to Delhi’s healthcare infrastructure, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Union Health Minister JP Nadda handed over appointment letters to more than 1,400 health personnel and launched several healthcare initiatives aimed at strengthening the Capital’s public health system.

At an event held at Vigyan Bhavan, the leaders distributed recruitment letters to 1,388 nursing officers and 41 allied staff. Nadda hailed the move as a crucial step in addressing a “15-year-long void in Delhi’s public health recruitment system”. He further emphasized that the fresh appointments would usher in a new era of specialized human resources in the healthcare sector.

The government also flagged off registration vans under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, aimed at enrolling residents under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) and Vaya Vandana Yojana. CM Gupta announced that the government will operationalise around 1,100 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAMs) by March 2026, with 100 new AAMs to be opened every month. Since the scheme’s rollout in April this year, 34 AAMs have been established and nearly 400,000 residents have been registered.

CM Gupta also criticized the previous Aam Aadmi Party-led administration, alleging that its mismanagement left the healthcare system in a 'state of disrepair' due to chronic staff and equipment shortages.

Union Minister Nadda highlighted that despite the Centre allocating Rs 1,700 crore for Delhi under the Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission, not a single rupee was utilised from 2021 to February 2025. He expressed confidence that the current administration would effectively use the funds for public benefit.

In a separate development, Nadda digitally inaugurated three new BJP district offices in Mehrauli, Outer Delhi, and West Delhi. He also informed that the BJP’s new Delhi state office is nearing completion. Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva called the inauguration a proud moment for the party, with parallel office openings in Haryana as well.
