
Chinese Hospitals to Boost Bangladesh's Medical Landscape

A multitude of prominent Chinese hospitals are exploring opportunities to expand into Bangladesh, aiming to establish modern healthcare facilities and enhance medical cooperation. This expansion plan includes providing advanced training and research support to Bangladeshi doctors. The initiative was highlighted at the Ni Hao! China-Bangladesh Health and Medical Advancement Exhibition held at Hotel Sarina, Banani.
The exhibition, open to the public, was organized by the Belt and Road Healthcare Centre, Bangladesh, in partnership with the Chinese Medical Alumni Association, the China-Bangladesh Postgraduate Doctors Alumni Association, and development group Amra Nari. It aimed to familiarize Bangladeshis with China’s advanced healthcare system and technology, focusing on improving access to high quality, technology driven medical services.
Health Ministry Adviser Nurjahan Begum inaugurated the event, expressing gratitude for China’s 'friendly and beneficial initiatives' in Bangladesh’s healthcare sector. She also pledged to strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries. Special guests included Professor Dr Md Sayedur Rahman, the special assistant to the chief adviser for the Ministry of Health, Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen, and Li Shaopeng, the cultural counsellor of the Chinese Embassy.

The exhibition offered free consultations and health screenings. It also provided information about various services, including expert consultations, medical invitation letters, visa assistance, and translation support. Hospitals participating in the event included Foshan Fosun Chancheng Hospital, Kunming Tongren Hospital, Shenzhen Hengsheng Hospital, and Guangzhou Fuda Cancer Hospital, among others. The initiative aims to make healthcare more affordable and accessible to Bangladeshis.
