The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) - Captain Srinivasa Murthy Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CSMCARI), under the Ministry of AYUSH, has entered into a strategic partnership with the Commissionerate of Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy (CIM&H). The entities signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to bolster research and standardization efforts in Ayurvedic and Homoeopathic medicine.

The MoU outlines a collaborative framework for testing services, training, and executing a joint project focused on "research studies for the standardisation of selected higher-order medicines", according to the AYUSH ministry. This partnership aims to test and standardize selected raw drugs and finished products, ensuring quality and efficacy.

Additionally, the MoU provides for National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) accreditation training guidance to the CIM&H laboratory, enhancing their capabilities.

“This MoU between CCRAS and CIM&H sets a precedent for other states to collaborate with CCRAS and the Ministry of AYUSH for various research and development activities”, said Dr. Rabinarayan Acharya, Director General of CCRAS.

The collaboration is expected to significantly enhance the quality and safety of Ayurvedic and Homoeopathic medicines, promote joint research initiatives, and facilitate capacity building and knowledge exchange between these leading institutions.
