According to Population Census 2011, there are around 104 million senior citizens (aged 60 years or above) in India, constituting about nine percent of the total population. Another report by Help Age India showcases that while India will be the youngest country in the world by 2020, but 20 percent of its population (325 million) will be elderly by 2050 (grown by 270 percent).
