Udayan Mental Health Care (Unleashing The Potential), a Delhi based clinic, facilitates the evaluation of barriers to one’s mental health. It provides supportive, solution-focused treatment, and is helping to unleash the potential of patients. At Udayan, it is a firm belief that every person has the potential to emerge like the sun. Udayan was started by Dr. Anandi Lal, MD(AIIMS), (Sr.Consultant Psychiatrist) and Nitin Anandi Lal(Consultant Clinical Psychologist). Dr. Anandi Lal has nearly 50 years of experience in this field. His areas of interest include General Adult Psychiatry, Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, and Geriatric Psychiatry.

Nitin Anandi Lal is a Clinical Psychologist trained at Shri Ramachandra Institute of Medical Sciences, Chennai, and is registered with the Rehabilitation Council of India to practice as a Clinical Psychologist. He also received training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) from The Beck Institute, Philadelphia, USA Advanced Certification in the use of Virtual Reality Therapy from Amelia Virtual Care, Spain; Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) Dialectical
Behavioral Therapy; Play therapy; and is also a trained COGMED Coach. He has attended several scientific conferences in India and abroad and presented research there. He has also given presentations on various mental health issues at multiple esteemed academic institutions and to various corporates.

“Awareness-raising regarding mental health is Udayan’s important goal. In several schools, we recently conducted a social awareness program to inform students and teachers about numerous childhood disorders, how to recognize them, and how to contact the appropriate professionals. We specifically wanted to focus on Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) because it affects children frequently. As a social driver, we gave presentations pro bono”, mentions Nitin.

Assessments & Therapy
The services rendered by Udayan include the evaluation and management of various mental health problems including interpersonal relationship issues in children, adolescents, adults, & older people. Udayan has facilities for all forms of Psychological assessments, such as Develop mental assessments, IQ assessments, Comprehensive ADHD assessments and interventions, Academic Achievement assessments for Specific Learning Disabilities and Slow Learners besides Comprehensive Psychological assessments for adults. In addition to this, Udayan has trained professionals to administer Virtual Reality Therapy which is used for various anxiety disorders. It also offers facilities for Play Therapy, Occupational therapy, and Special Education.

“I’ve always supported technology to address mental health conditions and have worked on the Sweden-based COGMED for Memory Training. I specialize in VR therapy and was one of the first to introduce it in India”, adds Nitin. The ADHD Clinic is a specialty clinic at Udayan. The clinic offers comprehensive subjective & objective evaluation and pharmacological & technology based non-pharmacological treatment. “I don’t typically concentrate on a single aspect of therapy; rather I use an eclectic approach and use a variety of approaches to help individuals realize their full potential”, told Nitin.

At Udayan, patients are treated as assets. The clients at Udayan are from all over India and abroad. “The future plans involve spreading mental awareness to the masses, providing technology-based services like VR therapy, educating on how therapy can work for clients, and establishing collaboration with various corporates. These efforts aim to address clinical issues and help people understand the difference between sadness, depression, and anxiety. In addition, it aims to connect with mental health professionals in tier two and tier three cities of India to provide therapy and support for those in need”, signs off Nitin.
