Amid this evolving landscape, professionals like Dr T. Narendar exemplify dedication, expertise, and a service-oriented approach. Building on his strong foundation in urology and years of compassionate service, Dr Narendar is a distinguished urologist whose journey began in a village school and progressed through prestigious institutions such as the AP Residential School in Sarvail and APRJC Kodigenahalli.
He completed his MBBS and MS in General Surgery from Guntur Medical College and pursued a DNB in Urology at Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences, Puttaparthi. With over a decade of clinical practice and 14 years of medical teaching experience, he is currently practicing at CHETHANA KIDNEY HOSPITAL located at Autonagar, Vanasthalipuram, Hyderabad and also works as Associate Professor at Kamineni Medical College. Redefining Urology for Transformative Patient Outcomes
Building on his extensive experience and dedication to modern urological care, Dr T. Narendar primarily performs Endo-Urology surgeries, with over 70 percent of his patients presenting with stone-related conditions. He and his team expertly carry out advanced, minimally invasive procedures such as laser surgeries, PCNLs, and RIRS, avoiding external incisions by operating through natural passages.
His expertise also includes laser treatments for prostate issues and laparoscopic surgeries for select cancer cases, reflecting a shift from traditional methods to patient-centric, technology-driven urological care. He is also well-versed in pediatric and female urology.
Continuing his journey with dedication, Dr T. Narendar has faced various challenges, especially the high initial investment required for surgical equipment. Coming from a modest background, he had to take loans to procure these instruments. Despite performing thousands of surgeries, he still encounters complex cases that sometimes require assistance. Each day remains a learning experience in his evolving practice.
Further enhancing his surgical expertise Dr T. Narendar provides high-level care every time by means of advanced laparoscopic skill and patient-oriented treatment. In complicated situations, he also refers patients to the institute, where he works with a talented team consisting of postgraduates, a senior fellow, and a junior consultant. It syncs their actions to provide him with all-inclusive treatment that allows him to perform difficult surgeries accurately, safely, and confidently.
A Journey of Learning & Innovation
Continuing his commitment to academic medicine, Dr T. Narendar says, “Being part of a teaching institution is invaluable it turns every day into a learning experience. Mentoring my students not only enriches their clinical skills but also enhances my own knowledge. With three post graduates under my guidance, this collaborative environment strengthens both patient care and academic growth, enabling us to manage complex urological conditions effectively as a skilled team”.
As part of his continuous learning journey, Dr T. Narendar is highly involved in workshops and conferences to ensure that he is aware of all the current developments in urology. To improve his knowledge, he also habitually refers to journals and books regularly.
In addition to his extensive surgical experience, Dr T. Narendar recently handled two particularly challenging cases. The first was a huge renal tumor (size approximately 15 to 20 centimeters) that was mentally huge and formed aggressive blood-laced veins that were so tricky to remove even using open surgery. The procedure lasted nearly four to five hours due to severe bleeding.
The second case involved a pelvic kidney with a stone, where he performed a laparoscopic-guided PCNL. Despite significant bleeding, he and his team successfully managed and completed the complex surgery. Furthermore, Dr Narendar has presented 15 to 20 papers at state and national conferences and has published 4 to 5 research articles, including two notable national level publications.
Looking Ahead
Continuing his pursuit of excellence, Dr T. Narendar aims to advance his expertise in robotic surgery. Despite the ongoing financial difficulties faced by both the individual practitioner and the non-profit institution in obtaining a robotic system, he is determined to stay abreast of the advancements. His team is actively working to enhance their knowledge in robotic-assisted procedures.
Dr T. Narendar emphasizes, “As a doctor, patient satisfaction is my greatest reward. I am known for my compassionate and patient-friendly approach, and many patients develop a deep trust in me. Most of my new patients come through referrals, which I consider the highest recognition of my dedication and quality of care”.
