Dr.Santhisree Bheesetti

Ayurvedic Expert

In a world besieged by the complexities of modern living, where chronic ailments loom large and traditional remedies often take a backseat, Dr. Santhisree Bheesetti emerges as a guiding light, steering the course towards holistic healing. With a focus on neurological disorders in children, she epitomizes the transformative potential of Ayurveda, offering a beacon of hope to families worldwide. Since earning her B.A.M.S. from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in 2010, she has dedicated her career to curing diverse health conditions through holistic treatment, guided by a remarkable focus on child care.

Dr. Santhisree’s expertise spans a myriad of complex conditions like, ADHD, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Speech Disorders, and Anxiety Disorders. Initially hesitant, she delved deep into Ayurvedic texts, crafting a comprehensive treatment plan that yielded remarkable results—a testament to the power of ancient wisdom in addressing modern afflictions. Notably, she has treated more than 10,000 children with neurological disorders during her career. As we recognize April as Autism Awareness Month, Dr. Bheesetti's unwavering dedication underscores the transformative potential of Ayurveda in today's world for addressing neurological disorders.

The Beginning of Ayurvedic Odyssey
“My journey with Ayurveda was set in motion by my father, an Ayurvedic practitioner himself”, shares Dr. Santhisree. She further adds, “He instilled in me the belief that analyzing the root cause is crucial to curing any disease - a task far more challenging for those practicing allopathy, homeopathy, or other modalities. My quest began at the tender age of seven”.

At the outset, her focus was on infertility, lumbar spondylitis, neurological issues and related cases. However, a pivotal moment came when an NRI parent from the US reached out, seeking help for their child’s ADHD – a condition that was then rarely understood. Initially hesitant, Dr. Santhisree’s passion and trust in Ayurveda propelled her to create a comprehensive treatment plan, scouring ancient texts and drawing from her experiences. The six-month regimen she designed was a holistic package targeting brain development, focus, attention, gut health, and overall well-being.

The results were nothing short of miraculous. The parent’s feedback was overwhelming, for the first time, their child was truly healthy. Their immunity soared, respiratory issues subsided, pollen allergies were controlled, memory improved, and their attention span lengthened. After trying various therapies, including behavioral interventions like Occupational Therapy and ABA, Dr. Santhisree’s Ayurvedic formula proved to be the turning point, enabling the child to remain healthy for more than a week at a time - a feat previously unimaginable.

“Solving that first ADHD case was undoubtedly an achievement”, reflects Dr. Santhisree. “But it was my own child’s speech regression that truly ignited my passion for treating neurological disorders in children”, she adds.

She further explains, “Diverse factors can lead to neurological delays and conditions in children, from regression following the MMR vaccine or febrile seizures to excessive antibiotic intake. My own child suffered regression after the MMR vaccine, experiencing poor eye contact, not responding to his name, understanding less, and having issues with reflexes. Witnessing the struggle, and contemplating the journeys of countless other parents, propelled me deeper into the realm of Ayurvedic neurology”.

While many in allopathy claim that conditions like Autism, ADHD, and Speech delays have no cure, and that lifelong therapy is the only solution, Dr. Santhisree begs to differ. “I can attest that Ayurveda offers a guarantee, with her well-defined ayurvedic protocol that can help cure many neurological issues in children”, she asserts.

As an Ayurvedic Practitioner, Dr. Santhisree’s protocol rests on four pillars. First, Panchakarma treatment, the cornerstone of Ayurvedic therapy, encompasses five components: Vamana, Virechana, Vasti, Nasya, and Raktamokshana, along with Upakarma treatments. Second, internal medicine is tailored to each child’s unique constitution, testing their Vata, Pitta, and Kapha doshas.
Imbalances in these doshas can cause inflammation in the brain, gut, or other areas, guiding the customized treatment plan across multiple sessions. Third, dietary and lifestyle modifications play a crucial role, while the fourth pillar emphasizes the active engagement of parents and patients themselves. “When these four elements are properly implemented, children as young as three years old can achieve 95 percent normalization”, Dr. Santhisree explains. “As the age increases, the percentage of improvement may decrease slightly, but a minimum of 50 percent normalization is achievable”, she adds.

Extending her expertise, Dr. Santhisree also provides comprehensive treatment plans for conditions like Azoospermia, Erectile Dysfunction, Oligospermia, and Male Infertility, as well as Tubal Blockages, Female Infertility, and PCOS. Her approach involves pulse examination, Vajikaran dravyas, Panchakarma treatments, dietary changes, and lifestyle modifications. Ayurveda, a vast medicinal field, has been the foundation of Dr. Santhisree’s practice over the years, with her brainchild, Sree Prathama Ayurvedam, playing a pivotal role. Founded in 2011, this unique Ayurvedic hospital is now among the top three leading Ayurveda hospitals in India, with branches in Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, and Bangalore. Dedicated to providing the highest quality treatment through Ayurvedic medicine, the hospital holistically treats chronic diseases and disorders by understanding their root causes.

Ayurveda’s Dinacharya and Ritucharya principles, i.e., waking early, sleeping early, and modifying our diets according to seasonal changes are fundamental to achieving this balance. By enriching our bodily constitution and aligning our lifestyles with nature’s rhythms, we can often avoid the need for medicines altogether”.
