Santosh Nair is a corporate professional turned entrepreneur. He got acquainted with the nuances of Ayurvedic medicines ever since his dad had opened an Ayurvedic retail shop in Mumbai, in 1987. As time progressed, his dad’s health started to deteriorate. This is when Santosh decided to relinquish his 15 years of corporate life and take over the reins of his family business.

Santosh, who is more of an innovator, always imagined of making ayurveda accessible to every household through the medium of technology. This is how, in 2016, he and his wife Kanchan Nair conceptualizing on the idea and exploring the opportunity in the e- retail space ventured into creating a unique online platform – ayusharogyam.com, with the intent of delivering genuine ayurvedic products to customers across India. This online platform not only caters to ayurvedic products but also hosts a range of herbal products, organic & handmade products of various reputed brands and manufacturers. The site also dwells upon and educates the users on a a variety of essential Ayurvedic concepts of Ahara (Food), Oushada (Medicine), Vihara (Home) & Kriya (Exercise) and the benefits of various ayurvedic kriya's or treatments.Further elaborating about the core essence of Ayurveda, Santosh avers “Ayurveda has been there since our ancient times. It’s been there for more than 1000 years. I strongly believe that our life
system is based upon this.However,a certain section of media tries to portray a negative connotation about this for their selfish motives. Frankly speaking, Ayurveda is not just a way of treatment, but also a way of life. So, embrace Ayurveda, embrace life!”

With the intent of making Ayurveda affordable and accessible to all, Ayush Arogyam has massive plans of partnering and integrating various ayurvedic treatment centers, spas, and hospitals across the country onto a single digital platform. In addition to this, the company is also looking to increase its retail presence across the country through self owned stores as well as through the franchisee model


Delivering Ayurveda to Every Household
Mumbai based, Ayush Arogyam’s journey has been an accelerating and fascinating one. Over the span of 2 years, they have managed to combine both online and offline businesses to effectively carry out their operations. On the offline front, they have gradually expanded their outlets across India, growing about 200 percent YoY. Also, their online business, which had a mere 50-60 users base at the beginning grew to a strong 700+ active user base within a span of 6 - 7 months “From my past experience I have learnt that the righteous way to attain growth in this field is to educate people and thus encourage them to make ayurveda a part of their daily life style” states Santosh. That is why, Ayush Arogyam offers free doctors consultation and counseling services to people,
both on their online and offline (retail stores) models. Apart from delivering Ayurveda products to its customers across India, their online platform has been effectively used to educate people, where they engage users & cover every single aspect, right from yoga, to wellness, fitness, medicine-less treatment, cancer treatment, and other products details for various treatments & ailments. In an attempt to take this initiative further, the company is now looking to partner with service providers in these fields (yoga, ayurvedic treatments, diet, nutrition etc) to promote good health and grow in this unique space. “The online platform is not currently our primary contributor in terms of sales revenue, but it has helped us immensely to garner a substantial customer base in addition to providing us a country wide visibility. More than anything, the e-sales model and free online consultations which we provide has helped us to understand the needs of people,” asserts Kanchan Nair, Financial Officer, Ayush Arogyam.

Also, our main objective is to grow with technology and help create a platform that offers an affordable marketplace for all the Ayurvedic manufacturers to sell their products online,” concludes Santosh.
