Today, the clinic has expanded from a small 180 sq. ft. to an 800 sq. ft. multispecialty center with a panel of specialists and his wife, Dr Jayashree Santosh(GDC Mumbai, 1998).Trained by a group of professionals from the University of Japan, Dr Santosh Ravindran was the first to spread awareness on preventive and minimally invasive dentistry, having conducted more than 600 workshops in India and overseas. Motivated by his grandfather, a celebrated Ayurvedic practitioner of Kerala, he has also spent decades delivering loving care to children with special needs through the Jai Vakeel Foundation and Special Olympics Healthy Athletes Program, an expression of his lifelong dedication to education, inclusiveness, and ethical dentistry.
How would you describe the philosophy or approach that defines Dr Ravindran’s Family Dentistry?
At Dr Ravindran’s Family Dentistry, we believe in providing high-quality dental care with a human and caring touch. We think that dentistry is not merely about fixing teeth but about enhancing the well-being of the mouth and the quality of life. We emphasize preventive care and addressing patients who need special care, like people with disabilities or unusual medical conditions. Our vision is to deliver treatment that is required, effective, and sustainable so that every patient reaps
benefits in the long-term. Every decision is made with honesty, transparency, and ethical practice, and our mission is to develop trust through honest patientcare.
What sets your clinic apart in terms of quality care, afford ability, and patient experience?
The difference our clinic makes is that we have a balance of clinical excellence and affordability. Although we offer complete dental care, we never suggest treatments that are unnecessary or based on financial considerations. What we do is solutions that are minimally invasive, long-lasting, and truly helpful. Our patients receive individualized care in a friendly ambience where they feel heard and taken care of. Despite the fact that we work in a neighborhood without mass advertising, we still experience consistent patient flow, almost exclusively by word of mouth.
How do you ensure your team and visiting specialists maintain consistently high standards across all treatments?
We have high standards and choose carefully team members and senior visiting specialists who share our values and commitment to quality care. Ongoing training and consultation guarantee that all are on the same page as the clinic’s protocols and clinical approach. Ethical practice, attention to detail, and patient-centered care are stressed. Our specialists work in close conjunction with our core team, and each treatment is completed with the precision and same level of excellence, irrespective of the complexity.
In what ways do you integrate modern techniques, technology, and innovations into patient care?
Technology is woven in mindfully to optimize diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient education. We utilize intraoral cameras, digital radiographs, OPG machine, and treatment planning software to simplify complicated information to our patients. High-quality instruments, advanced composites, and precise handpieces enable us to produce consistent and durable results. Although we don’t depend on hi-tech gadgetry for its own end, we embrace innovations that enhance results and patient comfort, a mix of modern science and practical efficiency.
How do you educate and empower patients to take preventive measures for long-term oral health?
Patient education is the core of our practice. We advise people of all ages on correct oral hygiene, diet, and lifestyle practices that influence dental health. Preventive care is not only highlighted in treatment but also through workshops, counseling, and awareness sessions. For patients with special medical concerns, we offer personalized strategies to save teeth in spite of challenges like low saliva flow. Our mission is to enable patients to make intelligent decisions and take real actions to ensure oral health for a lifetime.
