Poor diet is the major trigger for lifestyle diseases like diabetes, hypertension, thyroid & obesity that are growing rapidly in India. In fact according to the National Family Health Survey, most Indians eat an unbalanced diet. Albeit some healthcare providers encourage healthy behaviour through apps, their services don’t encompass a healthy lifestyle. Instilled with a three-pronged approach comprising of personal nutritionist & doctors, customized meal plans & Super Foods, and tech-based scientific analysis & constant mentoring, Bangalore-based Truweight provides a holistic service to encompass a healthy lifestyle through an App.

Fostering Healthy Lifestyle
Embracing the sayings of Hippocrates - ‘Let food be thy medicine & medicine be thy food,’ Truweight believes food is the best medicine, and fights obesity & its related disorders like diabetics, PCOD, high cholesterol & thyroid through healthier food. Believing that every individual is different in their own body composition, the
firm offers personalized diet chart-based on lifestyle, prior dietary habit, & other preferences. Moreover, a personal health coach (trained nutritionist) is assigned to each person who facilitates individuals to make sustainable gradual changes in their lifestyle & dietary habit and keeps them motivated & focused.

Unlike other diet programs that see food as enemy and starve a foodie, Truweight’s unique diet program called as ‘Health Dollar’ developed by food scientists & research scholars enables foodies to elude the need for counting calories, and eliminate chronic health issues all in an effort to create a sense of well-being. Explaining the aforementioned, Megha More, Co-Founder, Truweight, says, “100 health dollars are given to clients as soon as they join Truweight and they even have to sign an ‘Honest Expectation Letter’ to encourage them stay true to their mission of getting fit. They have to ensure to stay within it for a month and use the points wisely. For instance, consuming healthy food will cost them less than the unhealthy food”. Taking this a notch higher, when one saves more dollars s/he can sponsor one time meal for a kid through Akshyapatra. Through its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility coupled with contract
manufacturers, Truweight manufactures healthy food products what it calls – Super Foods and are delivered to clients every month. These Super Foods are made of natural ingredients like Quinoa, Spirulina, Wheatgrass, Alfaalfa Grass, & Apple Cider Vinegar, which bring numerous health benefits besides helping in overcoming lifestyle diseases. The products are formulated keeping in mind ease of use and maintaining the nutrition. For instance, one of its Super Foods – TruGreen, an early morning shot is made fluid to make it easier for the individual to consume.

Going the Extra Mile
To extend its benefits to clients PAN India, Truweight works with several hospitals & doctors to organize camps, body comprehensive analysis, &more to educate people on lifestyle management. The firm also runs a blog through which it provides diet tips on different topics and has also published books on the same subject. Aiming to enhance this awareness program, Truweight is envisioning introducing nutrition in the school curriculum in future.

Established in 2014, Truweight has branches in Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad & Bangalore. It is witnessing a whopping growth of 100 percent from last two years, and is in talks to close series-B funding to enhance its services. A research & nutrition based healthcare company, Truweight is envisioning working with more hospitals to help prevent or manage chronic medical conditions through food, not medication.
