Samsung Unveils R20 Ultrasound System with Advanced AI Capabilities
- Samsung launches next-gen R20 ultrasound system with advanced AI tools
- New device offers clearer imaging and better clinician workflow
- Supports a wide range of clinical applications across general imaging
Samsung has introduced its next-generation R20 ultrasound system, a super-premium device designed to transform general imaging with powerful AI features and an upgraded imaging architecture. Built on Samsung’s Crystal Architecture, the R20 aims to improve diagnostic accuracy, streamline workflow and enhance clinician comfort across multiple specialties.
The system integrates a full suite of AI-driven tools to support faster and more precise evaluations. Key features include Live LiverAssist, which detects suspicious liver lesions during real-time scanning, and Live BreastAssist, which identifies breast lesions and provides BIRADS classification instantly. The R20 also offers automated measurement tools that identify and measure internal structures, helping clinicians reduce manual tasks and improve reporting consistency. Another highlight is Deep USFF, Samsung’s AI-based tool for assessing liver fat fraction with accuracy comparable to MRI PDFF.
According to Atantra Das Gupta, Head of HME Business at Samsung India, the R20 reflects Samsung’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of medical imaging. “With AI at its core and a focus on image excellence and clinician comfort, the R20 represents a major shift in ultrasound technology”, he said.
