President Murmu Inaugurates Yashoda Medicity, Stresses Need for Inclusive Healthcare

President Droupadi Murmu on Sunday inaugurated Yashoda Medicity, a state-of-the-art private hospital in Indirapuram, and emphasized that quality healthcare is essential for national development. She urged all stakeholders, including the private sector, to ensure that no citizen is deprived of effective medical care, regardless of their economic background.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and Union Minister Anupriya Patel, the President said that healthcare plays a central role in building a strong and developed India. She praised Yashoda Hospital’s commitment to aligning with the government’s national health priorities.

Droupadi Murmu, noted that India’s growing health infrastructure will help achieve this vision.“Protecting people from diseases and improving health standards are among the government’s top priorities”.

President Murmu also lauded the hospital’s modern facilities, which bring diagnostics, treatment, and research under one roof, helping save patients’ time and improving care quality. She commended Dr. P.N. Arora, Chairman of Yashoda Medicity, for naming the hospital after his mother, calling it a reflection of Indian values and the spirit of Swadeshi.

Encouraging innovation, she suggested that Yashoda Medicity collaborate with institutes like IIT-Bombay to explore indigenous technologies such as gene therapy for cancer treatment.

Murmu concluded by reaffirming that accessible and compassionate healthcare is a shared responsibility that can transform India into a healthier, more resilient nation.
