Odisha Advances Healthcare Innovation Through New Startup Focused Pact

AIIMS Bhubaneswar has signed a strategic partnership with KIIT-Technology Business Incubator (KIIT-TBI) and Bhubaneswar City Knowledge Innovation Cluster (BCKIC) Foundation to foster healthcare innovation, digital health technology, and clinical entrepreneurship in Odisha.

The agreement aims to transform the state into a hub for cutting edge healthcare startups and medical technology, contributing to India's broader goals in digital health. The initiative will provide a robust platform for developing, validating, and deploying innovative healthcare solutions while promoting startup growth in the region.

According to a joint release, the collaboration will establish Centres of Excellence (CoEs) in healthcare, diagnostics, and digital health. These centres will help accelerate innovation, support technology transfer, and create opportunities for healthcare focused entrepreneurs.

The signing ceremony took place at AIIMS Bhubaneswar in the presence of Professor Dr Ashutosh Biswas, Executive Director of AIIMS Bhubaneswar, and Dr Mrutyunjay Suar, CEO of KIIT-TBI and Chairman of BCKIC.

As part of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the institutions will conduct innovation bootcamps, startup programmes, regulatory workshops, and investor roundtables. The partnership will also enable real world testing of advanced technologies like telehealth platforms, AI based diagnostic tools, and remote patient monitoring devices.

In addition, the pact will focus on building skills, supporting clinical innovation, and incubating healthcare startups that address real world challenges. Through this collaboration, Odisha is positioning itself as a national leader in healthcare entrepreneurship and digital health advancement.
