  • Max Healthcare and TIGS sign MoU to drive genomic research
  • Focus on rare genetic diseases, neonatal care, and personalized medicine
  • Collaboration aims to translate genetic insights into clinical practice

Max Healthcare and the Tata Institute for Genetics and Society (TIGS) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on advancing genomic research in India. This partnership aims to integrate cutting-edge genetic science into clinical healthcare to improve patient outcomes and support innovation in medical science.

The MoU was signed by senior leaders from both organizations, laying the foundation for joint research in areas such as rare genetic disorders, neonatal care using genomic insights, and the development of personalized treatment strategies driven by genetic profiling.

Through this partnership, Max Healthcare's vast clinical experience and access to diverse patient data will be combined with TIGS’s expertise in genomics. The institutions will jointly conduct workshops, conferences, and training programs to enhance knowledge sharing among researchers, scientists, and clinicians.

Dr. Sandeep Budhiraja, Group Medical Director at Max Healthcare, said the collaboration marks a major step in bringing personalized healthcare closer to patients. “By incorporating genomics into our clinical practice, we aim to offer more precise and effective treatments”, he noted.

Echoing this sentiment, Dr. Rakesh Mishra, Director of TIGS, highlighted the importance of applying genetic science to real-world clinical problems. “This partnership offers an opportunity to ensure our research benefits society directly,” he said.
