Indian pharmaceutical companies are actively exploring opportunities to set up production facilities in Russia. This move is part of a strategic effort to deepen collaboration between the two countries and tap into Russia’s growing pharmaceutical market.

At the recent 'TIME: Russia-India, Mutual Efficiency forum', Sergey Cheremin, Moscow Government Minister and Head of the Department for External Economic and International Relations, shared that, Indian and Russian pharma firms are in talks to form joint ventures. These partnerships aim to establish manufacturing units within Russia, combining India’s pharmaceutical expertise with Russia’s market reach.

Sammy Kotwani, President of the Indian Business Alliance, highlighted the strong complementarities between the two nations. While India brings a skilled workforce and strong industrial know-how, Russia offers abundant natural resources and technological capabilities. This synergy is expected to boost collaboration not only in pharmaceuticals but also in agriculture, textiles, renewable energy, and creative sectors.
