Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Mansukh Mandaviya emphasized the potential of blending Ayush traditional wisdom with modern scientific research to enhance holistic healthcare innovations in India. Speaking at the inauguration of the Ayush-ICMR Advanced Centre for Integrated Health Research (AI-ACIHR) at AIIMS in New Delhi, he highlighted the significance of collaborative efforts to bridge the gap between traditional Ayurvedic practices and contemporary medical science.

The AI-ACIHR, slated to be established across AIIMS branches in Delhi, Nagpur, Jodhpur, and Rishikesh, will concentrate on conducting research in diverse areas such as gastro-intestinal disorders, women and child health, geriatric health, and cancer care. Mandaviya stressed the importance of integrating Ayush knowledge with modern healthcare methodologies to propel India towards pioneering advancements in holistic healthcare solutions.

In line with this vision, the minister inaugurated a clinical trial focusing on anaemia to be conducted across eight different sites including prominent medical institutions such as MGIMS Wardha, AIIMS Jodhpur, NITM Bengaluru, and others. Mandaviya reiterated the government's commitment to adopting an integrative approach by amalgamating the best practices from both Ayurveda and allopathy.

Additionally, he launched the Indian Public Health Standards (IPHS) tailored specifically for Ayush healthcare facilities. These standards, formulated by the Union Health Ministry, aim to standardize and elevate the quality of Ayush healthcare delivery across the nation. Mandaviya emphasized that through the adoption of these reforms, states and union territories would be empowered to develop Ayush healthcare services with standardized infrastructure, thus enabling broader access to quality Ayush medical services for the public.

The minister's remarks underscored the government's proactive stance in promoting holistic healthcare by leveraging the rich heritage of Ayush traditions alongside advancements in modern medical research. The collaborative initiatives and standards introduced are poised to revolutionize the healthcare landscape in India, fostering a harmonious integration of traditional and contemporary healthcare practices for the benefit of all citizens.
