Post the success of launching the first-ever genomics-based comprehensive preventive health solution test in Mumbai in collaboration with Wockhardt Hospital and Godrej Memorial Hospital, now we are paving our way into the capital through diverse collaborations, to Yashoda Hospital, the pioneers in healthcare services. Together, we can unlock the immense potential of genomics for the benefit of patients.”
Smart Gene Plan is a completely automated AI-based bioinformatics platform used to create consumer-focused wellness products. The programme aims to give people a personalised, circuit view of preventative healthcare, including early identification of potential future health issues using pathological and genetic studies. It is the first-of-its-kind genome test for preventative healthcare that examines the entire exome, the introductory cost of the test is Rs 21,000 which encompasses more than 7000 genes, close to 9000 mutations, and significant blood parameters to determine the underlying disease predispositions.
Dr Upasana Arora, CEO & Director, Yashoda Super Speciality Hospital, Kaushambi said, “In India, the need for preventive healthcare has become more critical than ever before. By prioritising preventive measures, we can proactively address health concerns, promote wellness, and create a healthier nation. And by harnessing the power of genomics, we will be able to achieve the knowledge of understanding valuable insights into an individual’s genetic predispositions, enabling personalised preventive strategies.”
Addressing the gathering, Dr Aparna Bhanushali, Head of Growth and Scientific Support, HaystackAnalytics stated, “According to a recent report by the International Diabetes Federation, India is currently home to the most people with diabetes in the world, numbering around 77 million, and the report also indicates that this number is projected to rise to 134 million by 2045. This is an alarming statistic that highlights the urgent need for preventive measures. In addition, India also witnesses a significant number of premature deaths due to cardiovascular disease, which accounts for a quarter of all deaths. This is where the Smart Gene Plan is equipped to provide a comprehensive solution to this crisis, by allowing for early identification of health issues and providing necessary treatment to those in need.”
This collaboration between Yashoda Super Speciality Hospital, Kaushambi and HaystackAnalytics signifies a significant step forward in the integration of genomics into mainstream healthcare. By incorporating genomic data, healthcare providers will gain a deeper understanding of genetic variations, disease risks, and potential treatment responses, leading to more personalised and effective healthcare interventions.
