Garmin and Apollo HealthAxis Deepen Ties to Advance Digital and Rural Healthcare in India

- Garmin and Apollo HealthAxis expand collaboration to bring wearable health tracking to rural India.
- Integration of Garmin biometrics with Apollo’s ProHealth and Total Health programs enhances chronic disease monitoring.
- The partnership aims to make healthcare more preventive, personalized, and accessible across urban and rural communities.
Garmin India and Apollo HealthAxis, a subsidiary of Apollo Hospitals, have entered a new phase of their strategic partnership aimed at advancing digital health and rural wellness across India. The collaboration builds on the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed at the Garmin Health Summit 2024 and now focuses on expanding wearable health monitoring to underserved areas.
As part of this expansion, Apollo’s Total Health program, under its CSR initiative, is now fully integrated with the Garmin Health API. This allows the deployment of Garmin smart watches and fitness trackers in rural India to track health indicators and manage chronic conditions like diabetes. A joint research study will assess how continuous health monitoring can improve outcomes in these communities.
In urban areas, customers purchasing select Garmin fitness devices can now access Apollo’s AI powered ProHealth program, which analyzes health data, predicts disease risks, and offers personalized lifestyle advice. Select Apollo Health Plans will also include Garmin wearables, giving users a seamless healthcare experience.

Dr. Sai Praveen Haranath, SVP at Apollo HealthAxis, added that the partnership allows for personalized care by combining Garmin’s biometric tracking such as heart rate variability, sleep, stress, and physical activity with Apollo’s clinical expertise.
This collaboration represents a significant step in reshaping healthcare delivery in India, making it smarter, more inclusive, and technology driven.
