Fujifilm India Teams Up with GVN Hospital for Mobile Endoscopy Unit

Fujifilm India has unveiled a collaboration with GVN Hospital to launch a mobile endoscopy unit named the Endo Bus, aimed at detecting gastrointestinal (GI) cancer in India. Commencing in December, the key objective of this partnership is to provide complimentary screenings for early-stage GI cancers to economically disadvantaged individuals in smaller towns and underserved areas. The initiative seeks to guarantee that essential healthcare services are within reach for those in need, regardless of their socio-economic background or geographic location.

In collaboration with GVN Hospitals, Fujifilm India is striving to extend its reach to remote areas in the southern region of the country, where healthcare accessibility remains a significant challenge. Frequently, the lack of awareness and the considerable distances patients must travel contribute to the oversight of early-stage gastrointestinal tract lesions, as patients may not exhibit significant symptoms. Upon screening individuals with suspected lesions in these remote locations, they will be transported to GVN Hospitals for advanced diagnostic assessments utilizing LCI and BLI technology.

Talking about the initiative, Koji Wada, Managing Director, Fujifilm India, said, "Access to quality healthcare is a fundamental right that geographical or financial constraints should not limit. We believe that early detection is pivotal in combatting diseases like gastrointestinal cancer, especially in areas which have limited healthcare infrastructure".

Dheeraj Chaudhri, Head, Endoscopy Systems Division, Fujifilm India, said, "GI cancers have been on the rise in India due to changing lifestyles. So, it has become quintessential for us to dedicate efforts toward bringing quality diagnostic services closer to people who may otherwise face challenges accessing such specialized medical care".
