Dr. Agarwal's Group of Eye Hospitals has allocated Rs 100 crore for the establishment of new hospitals and the enhancement of existing infrastructure facilities in Kerala, as stated by a senior official. As part of their expansion strategy, the eye care provider has recently opened a new hospital in Kozhikode. "We are committed to transforming Kerala into a destination for world-class eye care services. We are investing about Rs 100 crore in Kerala over the next two years". Dr Agarwal's Group of Eye Hospitals chief operating officer Rahul Agarwal said.

The investment would be utilized for setting up new hospitals and to upgrade the existing facilities, he noted. "Our objective is to provide our patients with improved access to high-quality eye care and generate employment opportunities in the healthcare sector. The investment will go towards adding new hospitals and modernizing the existing four hospitals (in Kerala)", Agarwal said in a statement.

The Group aims to inaugurate its second facility in Thiruvananthapuram by the conclusion of the upcoming financial year. Additionally, there are plans to establish a presence in Kannur, Thrissur, Palakkad, Kollam, Thalassery, and Malappuram by the end of the fiscal year 2025-26. The newly opened Calicut hospital, spanning 10,000 sq ft in Patteri, Pottammal, provides advanced facilities for the diagnosis and treatment of various eye conditions, including cornea, retina, refractive issues, and cataracts.

"With a legacy of excellence in eye care that spans several decades, we bring our wealth of expertise to Calicut to address a wide range of eye conditions and disorders", Dr. Agarwals Eye Hospital Regional Head-Clinical Services Dr. S Soundari said.

The recently launched Calicut hospital is structured to provide a comprehensive array of services, encompassing routine eye examinations, advanced diagnostic procedures, and diverse surgical interventions, as highlighted by Soundari. In celebration of the new facility's inauguration, the hospital will extend free consultations to its patients until the end of the current month. Dr. Agarwal's Group presently manages more than 160 eye care facilities across India and 15 in Africa.
