In a significant stride towards enhancing healthcare services, the Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad inaugurated Gujarat's largest government skin bank along with other advanced medical facilities. The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Gujarat Health Minister Rushikesh Patel.

Patel underscored these initiatives as a collective achievement of the government, society, and philanthropic organizations in realizing the vision of a "Developed Gujarat leading to Developed India by 2047". The projects are anticipated to elevate healthcare services, reflecting a comprehensive approach to medical care and patient welfare.

The skin bank, established in collaboration with Rotary Club Kankaria, is aimed at treating burn victims and patients requiring skin grafts due to accidents. It is poised to serve as a crucial resource for the burns and plastic surgery department. The inauguration also showcased the introduction of a '128-slice GE CT scan' machine, valued at around Rs 6.25 crore. This addition is expected to reduce wait times for CT scans, offering high-resolution imaging for improved diagnosis and treatment planning.

Other noteworthy projects unveiled include a patient facilitation center at the OPD, supported by Bank of Baroda, and innovative patient golf cart services funded by Astra Foundation and Canara Bank, enhancing patient mobility within the hospital. Rotary Club Kankaria contributed Rs 12 lakh towards the development of a children's garden opposite the hospital, further enhancing the hospital's facilities. These initiatives collectively represent a major leap towards bolstering healthcare infrastructure in Gujarat.
