BRAIN Program Set to Make Andhra Pradesh a Hub for Health Tech Innovation

The Andhra Pradesh government has launched the Bharat Biodesign Research and Innovation (BRAIN) programme to promote affordable, AI driven medical technology and workforce training. The initiative aims to develop innovative healthcare solutions that meet local needs and can be scaled across India and other emerging markets.

Chief Minister N, Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated the BRAIN programme at the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub in Amaravati. He emphasized the government’s vision to improve healthcare access, affordability, and quality for all citizens through advanced health technology.

The programme is a collaboration between the Andhra Pradesh government, the APAC Biodesign Alliance, and Stanford Biodesign from the USA. It focuses on combining AI, medical technology, and bio-design to foster innovation in healthcare.

BRAIN aims to train young innovators in global bio-design methods and support the growth of startups developing medical technologies. It also plans to create employment opportunities and strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s position as a hub for health tech and digital health.

Operating initially from the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub, the programme will serve as a model for healthcare innovation across India. It will bring international recognition to Andhra Pradesh by encouraging the development of affordable, scalable solutions that address pressing health challenges.

This initiative highlights the state’s commitment to transforming healthcare delivery using next generation technologies and promoting entrepreneurship in the medical technology sector.
