  • Adani Group to build AI-powered 1000-bed healthcare campuses in Mumbai and Ahmedabad with guidance from Mayo Clinic.
  • $100 billion investment planned over five years to create affordable, world-class healthcare infrastructure in India.
  • Gautam Adani emphasizes vision, innovation, and past learnings from projects like Mundra as the foundation for this healthcare transformation.

Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani announced a groundbreaking initiative in India’s healthcare sector at the 5th Annual Conference of the Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery Asia Pacific (SMISS-AP) held in Mumbai. The business tycoon revealed the development of Artificial Intelligence-powered healthcare campuses, beginning in Mumbai and Ahmedabad, designed to provide world-class amenities at affordable prices.

Termed Adani Healthcare Temples, these 1,000-bed integrated campuses aim to revolutionize the Indian healthcare landscape by offering AI-first medical ecosystems. The prestigious Mayo Clinic is serving as an advisor on design, implementation, and adherence to global standards in medical infrastructure and research.

“We will be delivering on this promise through the Adani Healthcare Temples. These infrastructures are designed to be world-class, affordable, AI-first ecosystems”, Mr. Adani stated at the conference. “We are proud to have the Mayo Clinic guiding us on this journey”.

The initiative is part of a larger strategic move, with the Adani Group set to invest $100 billion over the next five years in the healthcare sector. Adani described this commitment as a forward-looking effort to align with India’s future vision, combining technology, research, and infrastructure to enhance healthcare accessibility.

Reflecting on his early entrepreneurial journey, Mr. Adani shared how it began not with grand ambitions but with a 'spark of conviction' and a willingness to act despite uncertainty. He recounted the story of the Mundra project in Gujarat, a pivotal chapter in his business trajectory.

“It all started in Mundra to build a salt export jetty with a US partner. When the partner backed out, we built it ourselves without any construction experience”, he recalled. That bold move laid the foundation for what would become India’s largest multi-cargo port, along with the world’s largest private single-site thermal power plant and a sprawling hub for renewable energy and heavy industries.

“Mundra is the manifestation of a belief made real”, Mr. Adani said, drawing parallels between his earlier ventures and the ambitious healthcare projects now taking shape.

With these AI-powered healthcare campuses, the Adani Group signals a transformative shift in healthcare delivery, blending innovation, inclusion, and infrastructure to meet the evolving needs of modern India.
