Interventional Radiology over the past 10 to 15 years has emerged as a standard of care for several conditions. However, in India, awareness about this specialty remains relatively low among patients and even among many private-practice physicians. While doctors in government institutions are exposed to Interventional Radiology through their MD Radiology curriculum, specialists in private practice may not be fully aware of the minimally invasive procedures and the benefits they offer.
