Academy of Advanced Dentistry : Bridging the Gap in Advanced Dental Education
Advanced dental education in India has several systemic challenges. Gradually, the majority of doctors graduate from college with a deep theoretical background but little clinical exposure, hence lacking confidence while dealing with actual patients. The shortage of handson experience coupled with limited scope to acquire specialist skills tends to increase the know-do gap. Availability of high-tech equipment like surgical microscopes, CAD/ CAM systems, CBCT imaging, and digital dentistry machines is still out of bounds, since the expensive equipment is scarce in most of the educational institutions.
